Dans le cadre de vos activités commerciales, vous êtes certainement tenu d'anticiper les problèmes afin de les éviter. Il en va de même pour les barrières réglementaires: si vous exportez un produit, vous préférez probablement être alerté à l'avance de toute nouvelle réglementation technique applicable à ce produit. Au sein de l'Union européenne, le marché intérieur permet de garantir la libre circulation des marchandises. Mais qu'en est-il dès lors que vous exportez vers un pays n'appartenant pas à l'Union européenne, c'est-à-dire un pays tiers ?

L'accord de l'OMC sur les obstacles techniques au commerce est là pour vous aider.

Il permet aux opérateurs économiques de l'Union européenne de se familiariser avec les nouvelles règles applicables aux produits dans les pays tiers (voir la section «Être informé»);
Il permet de détecter les obstacles techniques au commerce international et de les supprimer à leur source, le plus souvent grâce à votre contribution (voir la section «Faire entendre votre voix»).

Notifications and comments

As of 1 February 2022, the EU will publish:

EU TBT notifications;
comments from WTO Members on EU TBT notifications, provided that such comments do not contain personal data; and
EU replies to comments from WTO Members on EU TBT notifications.

The EU will also publish:

TBT notifications from WTO Members to which the EU provided comments;
EU comments on TBT notifications from WTO Members; and
Replies of WTO Members to EU comments on their notifications, provided that such replies do not contain personal data.

Finally, the EU aims at publishing TBT notifications of EU Member States.
